Email Marketing Campaigns are just about my favorite tool in direct marketing.

Here’s tip number 1 I share on that knol page.
Tip Number 1: Don’t think of it as ‘creative’, think of it as ‘connecting’.
Your task is to create a ‘market to message match’. I.e. A suitable message that matches the thoughts and needs of the target audience. As such, it doesn’t have to be colourful, pretty, curiosity building, loud, big, branded, or any other such thing.
What it needs to be is suitable to the target market.
My 610% win at the agency was done with plain text looking long-copy and only a single picture near the bottom of the email. (See my copy on my Email Marketing page).

Before accepting a home based job ask the program sponsor what type of job you need to perform, how much you would get for the work, who would pay you, work hours etc.

Common Corporate Mistake In Marketing

To me, the most important thing, is to know where to start. Often times corporate types ask the right questions, and then rush off on tangents to the main point.
As one example, a client has elected a creative agency to provide brilliant creative for banner advertising in the clients industry. Yet what they hadn’t factored in, which I pointed out in a punchy email, was that sending new people to the existing sites registration process would require 8,000,000 clicks to meet target.

It’s great to start this blog on one of my favorite subjects - Direct Response Marketing.
So much of marketing is bogus. Creative agencies charge mega bucks for creative work that wins them awards, but bankrupts the client. This has been repeated time and again over the past 50 years.
But Direct Response Marketing is wholly different. The technical logic and disciplined approach of direct response copywriting scares off the ‘creative types’, and so it should, for it is a specialist niche that the masses pay lots of money too, but do not understand.
I plan to bring some insight for you here.
