Master Business Building Club - Powerful Partnerships

August 20th, 2008 · No Comments

Following my email about the importance of joint ventures and introducing you to the Joint Venture University Mitch Meyerson, creator of the Guerrilla Marketing Coaching Program explains how to create profitable and powerful partnerships.

OK Mitch does sing on this towards the end and while he may never be as famous as Bruce Springsteen, he has clearly got talent as a songwriter, musician and singer.

This is part of the promotion of Mitch Meyerson’s new joint venture, or should that be powerful partnership with the Master Business Building Club.

It’s all very new but <Mitch has big plans and there is a thirty day free trial with a host of goodies so what are you waiting for?

Take a look at the Master Business Building Club.

What? You want more of Mitch’s music? Here he is imitating Jimi Hendrix.

Wow that’s loud!

Now some practical advice about how you can “manifest your dreams”.

In this video Mitch warns that he’s planning to share more of his music with the world. You have been warned. (Just joking Mitch.)

I could tell you a lot about the Master Business Building Club but you’ll learn more about the content and the clever technologies from their website - Master Business Building Club.

Joint Venture University - Marc Goldman JV University

August 17th, 2008 · 1 Comment

What is one of the quickest ways of attracting new customers for little direct cost that could transform your business, even in these tough times?

Joint ventures.

Guerrilla Marketing calls it Fusion Marketing. Jay Abraham used to call it host beneficiary relationships. Other people refer to strategic alliances and it is a key ingredient in Mark Joyner’s concept of Integration Marketing.

But it’s not just finding new customers.

What about selling new high quality products or services to your existing customers that they need but don’t fit your capabilities?

Or even spotting the opportunity to bring suppliers and customers together and establishing yourself in what Jay Abraham calls the “toll booth position” where you control the access and take a hefty cut of the profits?

Need an example?

I probably should name them but there is one entrepreneur I have enormous respect for in the UK who spotted that the UK accountancy industry could be transformed leveraging the accountants’ position as the most trusted advisor most small businesses have.

A network was put together of over three hundred accountancy firms, all paying a substantial membership fee and being given access to promote branded products and services from high quality suppliers.

How Can You Learn About Joint Ventures?

The obvious starting point is Marc Goldman’s JV University which offers which offers two levels of membership:

  • Free (and I like free) and this gives you access to the basic resources to teach you how to put together a joint venture.
  • Monthly Paid Subscription - $27 if you take the one time offer or $47 per month as a subsequent upgrade.

I have just joined so I’ll be reporting back later but Marc Goldman has a great reputation as one of the leading experts in joint ventures and is fresh from the success of the joint venture with Jay Abraham called Joint Venture Mastery which has now been withdrawn.

Marc Goldman is also behind the Goldbar One service which supplies the technology to help you to coordinate online joint ventures.

What Do You get From The Joint Venture University?

A series of multi media modules with the introductory modules free to all and the more advanced modules requiring a paid subscription.

That seems fair to me and shows the confidence Marc Goldman has in the JV University that when you’ve worked through the basic modules you will want to upgrade.

JV Module 1 - What Are Joint Ventures?

A quick definition - two or more businesses or individuals combining resources to create a winning deal.

This includes quite a long audio interview of Michael Holland interviewing Marc Goldman with some good basic content.

My only issue is that you can’t download the audio so I wasn’t able to listen to it at a faster speed using FasterAudio. I’m now used to listening at about 170% of normal speed, saving about 25 minutes out of every hour.

JV Module 2 - Finding Joint Venture Partners

An introduction to Marc’s JV temperature gauge  and an emphasis on the need to know your market.

Another quite long audio of a hot seat call with someone in a foreign exchange multi-level marketing business. I didn’t gain much from this.

JV Module 3 - Finding Joint Venture Partners 2

Introduction to NEER - naturally existing economic relationships and a very short audio.

JV Module 4 - The Power of NEER

Expanding on the concepts introduced in module 3 with a step by step guide plus a short audio interview with Mark Joyner.

JV Module 5 - JVs in your own backyard

Notorious bank robber was asked why he kept robbing banks and he gave a famous answer “because that’s where the money is”. Want to know more? here’s a link to the FBI Famous Cases.

While Willie Sutton is not mentioned in this module, the message is the same - concentrate your joint venture efforts where the money is.

There’s also an audio about finding tenants for commercial property as an example of how you can profit from opportunities around you.

Other Resources Connected With Joint Ventures

First there is Mark Joyner and his new book Integration Marketing (currently available as a free PDF download). Mark has told me off so I must tell you that integration marketing intersects with joint ventures with common areas but has some unique aspects and is certainly not intended as a comprehensive guide to joint ventures.

If you go to the website, Mark Joyner makes a one time 50% offer for the upsell to Integration Marketing Starter Kit (the link takes you to my review on my other blog).

Internet business coach Rich Schefren (and current JV partner with Jay Abraham on the Maven Marketing project) has also entered the joint venture market with his Internet Joint Venture Partnerships guide.

I must admit that I haven’t yet seen the JV guide from Rich Schefren. In fact it is about the only thing that I haven’t bought of his but there is a six month guarantee and knowing the quality of Rich Schefren, I am confident. It’s just that I’m looking to put together offline JV arrangements rather than online so this guide from Rich failed the relevancy test.

Testing For Improved Website Conversions - 43 Split Tests

August 16th, 2008 · No Comments

As a follower of Jay Abraham I have been schooled in the essential art of optimisation and how growth becomes exponential when you improve a combination of factors.

This key message is repeated by all the other direct marketers.

If you want marketing success, you must test.

I know this is true, both intellectually (because I can’t get everything right the first time) and financially when I’ve seen the improved results.

But testing is a pain.

It takes time.

Results are often inconclusive and you start doubting either the sample or the recording of the results. I’ve had headlines that I thought were bankers but they were comprehensively beaten by a simple, short statement of a key benefit.

It costs money and lost opportunities.

So I like short cuts so I adapt proven winning headlines and shape them to my purpose as a starting point. I look at what the top marketers are doing on their websites and borrow ideas.

Now there is a new way to get that jumpstart for your website conversion that can cut out much of the wasted time, effort and money that is spent testing ideas that don’t work.

Ryan Deiss 43 Split Tests

Internet marketer Ryan Deiss has secured the results of 43 proven winners that increase conversions and cut refunds that are the best of over 300 different tests across different markets which someone spent eight years and over a million dollars on putting together.

Take a look at 43 Split Tests.

I’m not going to spoil the irresistible offer Ryan makes.

What Do You Get From 43 Split Tests

A two and a half hour video or mp3 of Ryan and Perry talking through the results of the tests. Great stuff.

For quick reference you get a short highlights PDF and an implementation checklist as well so if you have a number of websites, it is easy to keep track.

Fascinating Information

When you learn these secrets you will be making changes to your website, sometimes in minutes of learning the facts. Many are not difficult or time consuming. Some are obvious (but how often do we all miss the obvious), some are logical when you think about it, some are surprising.

If you have an under-performing sales page and you want or need improved website conversions then the use of the 43 Split Tests results could have a profound effect.

Or perhaps your website is converting at 2% and making you $1,000 dollars a month. That’s pretty good going but what if it could convert at 4% and double your profits by changing your guarantee, by presenting your offer in a particular way, by knowing exactly where to place testimonials in relation to your order form?

It strikes me that this is essential information for any Internet marketer to know and any website designer, developer or adviser on Internet marketing. I will be making regular reference to my copy of the 43 Split Tests when I’m working with clients.

Market Research for Small Business

August 8th, 2008 · No Comments

One of my Google alerts highlighted an article that gives Data Research Tips For Small Business which gives you the chance to conduct that all important market research from the Copy Doodle Blog.

In particular I didn’t know about ResearchWikis.com - I looked up accountants as I am talking to an accountant client this afternoon - Accounting Services Marketing Research.

Some of the data isn’t as new as you might want but it is still useful background information.

Market research is an area where many small businesses are particularly weak, knowing little about industry trends or their competitors.

Google Insights

Google have just launched a new service which is an extension of the Google Trends call Google Insights - see the article in the New York Times

It helps you to see what the trends are for key word searches and where particular searches are hot and cold.

Good for market research and interesting to play around with.

Free Market Research for Small Businesses Report

On my main blog I have given you the opportunity to download one of my special reports for free, you don’t even need to surrender your email address this time.

Instant Sales Letters Templates Make Writing Copy Easy

August 8th, 2008 · No Comments

I have just bought and reviewed Yanik Silver’s very well established template system for creating sales letters - Instant Sales Letters.

As well as a wide range of templates you receive some excellent bonuses including Yanik’s ebook “Surefire Sales Letter Secrets: How To Create a Fortune in Your Business With Powerful Direct Mail” which explains the theory behind the templates and gives you practical tips on how to make your sales letters compelling.

Even better was  “Ultimate Sales Letter Tool Box” is great.

The subtitle is very descriptive -  “All The Openings, Bullets, Copy-Connectors, Selling Words, Phrases, Guarantees, Closes, and P.S.s You’ll Ever Need To Create Killer Sales Letters”

Excellent value for the current price of $40 which will make writing sales letters easier and effective.

You do need to put some imagination into your marketing since you have to identify your own compelling benefits - that is where the Ultimate Sales Letter Tool Box is so handy as it means you can take your benefit and slip it into one of the recommended formats.

Marketing Coach News - August 2008

Yesterday I started a series of blog postings about news and articles coming from the Guerrilla Marketing Coaches - see June/July and August.

Today I am extending my Marketing Coach News to cover the best items from other brands of marketing coaches that come to my attention.

Being a Couch Potato Doesn’t Qualify You as a Media Strategist

Powerful article that shows that just because you have been exposed to millions of marketing messages from television, radio, newspapers and magazines it doesn’t mean that you are an expert in preparing your own marketing messages.

The one point missing from the tips given is that much of the messages seen anyway are not very good - they don’t stir the emotions, convey information or provoke action - and most people can only remember a tiny fraction of the marketing they have seen. Yes there is a drip effect into the unconscious mind but it is very slow.

PR is an important element in a marketing campaign although I seem to have a mental block when it comes to my own business. I guess I’m just shy!

Boost Your Online Business With Nitro Quattro

August 5th, 2008 · No Comments

Internet marketing experts Matt Gill and Kevin Wilke have announced the launch of their latest Internet business program - the Nitro Quattro.

A great success story in their own rights and producers of the famous Nitro Blueprint System which teaches start-up Internet entrepreneurs how to build a profitable online business.

The launch starts with making freely available (on surrender of your email address) nearly 60 minutes of video of Matt and Kevin presenting at a Russell Brunson event and introducing the world to the Nitro Quattro system for taking a one time marketing offer and turning it into multiple and recurring streams of revenue.

This is highly recommended. Kevin and Matt are not super slick presenters but the Quattro formula can make a major impact on your Internet marketing success although I would emphasise that the purpose is to deliver greater benefits to clients and customers which they are happy to pay for.

The Nitro Quattro does include the automatic opt-in to a continuity program and Nitro themselves use this repeatedly with the Trafficology newsletter to help you to build website traffic and Joe Vitale’s Hypnotic Gold.

It is a controversial technique so it is important to a) make it crystal clear that there is a free subscription as a bonus (and I prefer two months so that you understand that this is regular) and b) you make it easy for people to opt out and c) provide a high quality recurring product.

I like regular update programs but the danger is that you don’t listen to month 1, month 2, month 3 … before you know it you have allowed a year’s worth to build up and that you have spent a few hundred dollars buying something that you don’t use.

You can learn more about my thoughts on Nitro Marketing and the Nitro Quattro on my main coaching blog.

Going Beyond The Call Of Duty On Guarantees

Certified Guerrilla Marketing Coach, Tom Marshall of G Marketing, Inc issued a press release today with a remarkable guarantee.

G Marketing will work one-on-one with each firm to improve their marketing results and increase their marketing return on investment for a low flat fee of $7,970 for unlimited support throughout the year.

Any firm that doesn’t increase its revenue by at least 10 percent after 12 months of coaching will be paid $10,000.

“This is a low-cost, high reward, no risk program,” said Certified Guerrilla Marketing Coach Thomas P. Marshall. “Small businesses are hurting in the current economic climate. Firms under $10 million in revenue many times don’t have the marketing background to increase sales in a difficult environment. In the spirit of the Olympics, we wanted to help.” Just like America’s top athletes, selected businesses will work with top coaches to improve performance.

Wow Tom. What a statement,  what a service, what a guarantee and what great publicity for all Certified Guerrilla Marketing Coaches, even if some of us are a little more conservative in our guarantees.

My Marketing Hero - Jay Conrad Levinson Guerrilla Marketing

August 4th, 2008 · No Comments

Guerrilla Marketing by Jay Conrad Levinson was the first marketing book to focus specifically on the needs of small businesses to market and promote themselves to prospects and existing customers.

The story starts in the early eighties, when Jay Conrad Levinson lectured at a university in California on “how to earn a living without having a job”. His students asked him to recommend a book on marketing to help them find clients and customers.

After an extensive search, Jay Levinson discovered that there wasn’t a book focused on marketing a small business. In fact all the books written assumed that you had a multi-million dollar marketing budget.

Seeing the opportunity and already being a successful author and former vice president of the largest advertising agency in the world, Jay Levinson decided to write his own and Guerrilla Marketing was born.

What Makes Guerrilla Marketing So Special

Guerrilla Marketing is now the world’s best selling series of marketing books, specially focused on the essential issue of small business marketing.

The emphasis is on using time, energy, imagination and knowledge to replace the huge marketing budgets of your bigger competitors.

Twenty five years after the first Guerrilla Marketing book was published, the series has now sold more than 15 million copies and is taught in many business schools and universities as the practical approach to marketing a small, entrepreneurial business.

Key Guerrilla Marketing Concepts

First, Guerrilla Marketing is a mindset based on seeing marketing opportunities where others do not and then consistently following up to create success.

There are a number of secrets of Guerrilla Marketing (depending on which book you read it may be thirteen to eighteen as Jay Levinson keeps identifying a new factor which embody this mindset.

Second, the Guerrilla Marketing Attack is systematic and focused. It is based on research but the success rests on consistency, persistence, measurement and continual improvement.

Third the Guerrilla Marketing plan is just seven sentences long to ensure that you have absolute clarity over your purpose and how you will achieve it. Writing long marketing plans and business plans that are never read again is not the Guerrilla way.

Fourth, Guerrilla Marketing recognises that individual marketing techniques no longer work in the 21st century. There are too many people trying to sell too many things. But marketing combinations do work based on an identified 200 Guerrilla Marketing weapons, many of which are free or very low cost.

There is much more about Guerrilla Marketing and Jay Conrad Levinson is regularly collaborating with other marketing experts to increase the scope and depth of knowledge available to Guerrilla Marketers.

How To Find Out More About Guerrilla Marketing

If you can’t wait to learn more from this blog, then the ultimate source of knowledge on Guerrilla Marketing is the Guerrilla Marketing Association. This is Jay Conrad Levinson’s membership site which includes archived recordings of the weekly teleseminars, videos of Jay Conrad Levinson training at a Guerrilla Marketing Boot Camp, the Guerrilla Marketing Insider tips and the Guerrilla Marketing Forum manned by experienced Guerrilla Marketing coaches.

I will be featuring Guerrilla Marketing ideas regularly on this blog but you can find out more on my Business Coaching blog - see Guerrilla Marketing and my thoughts on the regular teleseminars from the Guerrilla Marketing Association.

I Was So Impressed…I Became A Certified Guerrilla Marketing Coach

I am proud to be a Guerrilla Marketing coach and I believe that it is the best and most practical solution for entrepreneurs and small business owners to get a firm grasp of the marketing basics. There are many imitators - there is only one Guerrilla Marketing.

Talking of imitators of Guerrilla Marketing, beware of the spelling. Guerrilla is an unusual word and has 2 “r” and 2 “l”. The original is not guerilla, guerila, gorilla or gorrilla although Internet keyword research shows that most people spell it guerilla marketing.
