Why Coffee May Not Be Helpful In The Cellulite Battle

Most women have a problem with cellulite. One thing I didn’t realize until recently was that coffee can actually encourage us to put weight on. It’s not because it has calories, and it’s not even the sugar that may go into it. What coffee does is increase the levels of the stress hormone, cortisol, as well as insulin, which helps regulate our blood sugar levels. And an increase in insulin can encourage our cells to store fat. The fluctuations in blood sugar may also lead to sweet cravings, so we end up consuming more calories than we normally would have.

Whilst slim people get cellulite too, extra fat makes it look worse. And if you’re trying to regulate your calorie intake, having coffee, or tea, (or any drink with caffeine) can make it harder to stick to our plans.

If you want to give up coffee, it’s best not to stop all at once. That can lead to withdrawal headaches, and fatigue. It’s much better to reduce your intake by half, then keep reducing by half til you’re done. You could try drinking decaf to replace the regular cups of coffee you drink. Whilst you may still feel tired as your body adjusts, once you’ve gotten through it, you’ll find you have much more energy than before. And you might even find you’ve dropped a dress size!
