You Might Have Trouble Finding Cool Plus Size Clothes In Jamaica

Plus size women in America are more fortunate than their Jamaican sisters when it comes to the availability and range of plus size clothing. The Jamaica Observer reports that many shops don’t even stock plus size clothing, let alone cool plus size clothes. In fact, for women with a pant size larger than 17/18, there was even a difficulty in finding frumpy plus size clothing. This is a shame, as that leaves many women without an affordable alternative for buying clothes.

The situation is such that many women get friends traveling overseas to buy plus size clothes for them. One lady had her dressmaker make clothes, but she said the result wasn’t very fashionable. She now relies on buying clothes and getting them altered to fit. Fortunately, the internet has made it a lot easier to source cool plus size clothes from overseas.

It’s important to be able to find fashionable plus size clothing, given the psychological boost it can give you. Whatever size you are, you should be able to buy clothes that flatter your figure. It’s narrow thinking to assume that only applies to slim women. Trinny and Susannah, from UK television fame, always emphasize how important it is to dress in a way that flatters you. And their shows are all about celebrating womens body shapes, whatever the size.

Cellulite Clothing

Cellulite treatments are coming in an odd assortment of products these days. Not only are there shoes purported to reduce cellulite, but there is now a range of garments impregnated with a skincare formula designed to reduce the appearance of cellulite. Medisana micro massage anti cellulite shorts was one of the first of this type that I came across. But now Macey’s are releasing a similar product, called Skineez Skincarewear

Macey’s new cellulite body shapers come with a bottle of the cellulite reducing skin formula. It contains shea butter, retinol, vitamin E, and a number of other ingredients designed to smooth skin as well as reduce the appearance of cellulite. You can wear these shapers up to 8 times before they need to be washed, and they say you really need to wear them for 8 hours at a time, to really get results. It takes about 4 to 6 weeks to see results, so if you’re planning on using these to prepare for summer, it pays to plan ahead! You can wear them at night too.

I don’t know whether there is any advantage to using this over a cellulite cream. The main difference is the convenience - even with all the best intentions, we can forget to apply cream regularly. Perhaps it’s easier to wear something with the cream in it.

These body shapers aren’t the first line of clothing to deliver anti cellulite lotions to the skin. There are also jeans available, and no doubt other types of clothing.

Why Coffee May Not Be Helpful In The Cellulite Battle

Most women have a problem with cellulite. One thing I didn’t realize until recently was that coffee can actually encourage us to put weight on. It’s not because it has calories, and it’s not even the sugar that may go into it. What coffee does is increase the levels of the stress hormone, cortisol, as well as insulin, which helps regulate our blood sugar levels. And an increase in insulin can encourage our cells to store fat. The fluctuations in blood sugar may also lead to sweet cravings, so we end up consuming more calories than we normally would have.

Whilst slim people get cellulite too, extra fat makes it look worse. And if you’re trying to regulate your calorie intake, having coffee, or tea, (or any drink with caffeine) can make it harder to stick to our plans.

If you want to give up coffee, it’s best not to stop all at once. That can lead to withdrawal headaches, and fatigue. It’s much better to reduce your intake by half, then keep reducing by half til you’re done. You could try drinking decaf to replace the regular cups of coffee you drink. Whilst you may still feel tired as your body adjusts, once you’ve gotten through it, you’ll find you have much more energy than before. And you might even find you’ve dropped a dress size!
