Scrapbook Paper

June 30th, 2008 | Category: Arts, Design, Info, Shopping

I have always wanted to make elaborate scrapbooks. I have a few that I have finished, but they are nothing like I wished they would look. I found that scrap booking turned out to be more of an expensive hobby than I ever imagined. You can make great looking layouts if you have the money to do so. Even though something like scrapbook paper might not be very expensive, many of the other tools and embellishments you might want to use can be quite pricy, especially when you want to purchase them all at once.

I used to go and buy scrapbook paper  sheets one of the time. This of course became somewhat of a pain. I started to buy packages of scrapbook paper, or I would go through and choose all of the ones I thought I might use in the future and purchase them all at once. Many times I would buy paper that I will never use, or I would skip the stuff that I would end up needing. I would become very frustrated. Sometimes I would end up skipping the scrapbook paper altogether and using other things I found around the house. That doesn’t exactly make for a beautiful scrapbook.

Perhaps the most economical way to buy scrapbook paper is to buy in bulk. You can find many different scrapbook paper packages that will include different colors and patterns, and you will save as compared to buying one sheet at a time. A great sheet of scrapbook paper can cost as much as a quarter, and sometimes they can cost as much as a dollar. This can be quite expensive, especially when you have a lot of things you want to scrapbook. Perhaps I am just not choosy enough about what I want to put my book because it seems that I have endless pages I need to do.

I still have some scrapbook paper laying at the bottom of a box. I guess I’m just not organized enough to keep things out where I can use them. The time I have to put together my scrapbook is very short. Sometimes, by the time I get everything out that I need, it is time to start putting it away. I hope that some time in the future I will have more time for this hobby, but for now, I will probably still buy useless scrap paper and hope that I can find the time to use it.

Remember Tree Climbing?

June 29th, 2008 | Category: Children, Entertainment, Miscellaneous

There are a lot of things that my daughter cannot do that I once did quite often as a child. This is mostly because of where we live and the fact that I am a bit overly protective. I am trying to let her do the things that I did, but I do understand now why my mom worried so much back then. To me, tree climbing was safe and I always knew what I was doing. To my mother, it was an accident waiting to happen, and something she always worried about when I was outside with friends. We spent a lot of time climbing trees, and we always had fun doing so.

Tree climbing was always about exploration. We wanted to get as high as we could. I guess there is just something exhilarating to a child about climbing trees that high and not having anything bad happen. We were always aware that we could only go up so high before the tree was too weak to hold us, and we never pushed it too far. My mom was not quite as secure about our knowledge, but I never had an injury from tree climbing, other than a few bruises and scratches.

When it comes to my daughter climbing trees, I don’t let her do it very often. I understand that tree climbing is something that all children want to do, and that I can stand with her as she tries it, but I still worry about it much as my mother did. Perhaps my daughter is just too small at the moment for me to trust in her judgment. Whatever the case, I do not want to keep her away from tree climbing all of her life. It is fun, and it is also a great way to build muscle. I just want to have some say in the trees that she chooses to climb. I don’t think that is too much to ask.

Though my tree climbing days included nothing more than my hands, feet, and good judgment, there is more to it today. There are many companies that sell tree climbing equipment that does make this much safer. You may want to look into this if you want your children to climb trees for fun. At the very least, as safety harness and a helmet might help to allay some of your fears about this fun activity.

Learn What Broadband is & Delight in Watching TV Over the Net

June 28th, 2008 | Category: Electronics, Entertainment, Info, Travel, tv

Broadband is high speed internet access, and is significantly speedier than super slow dial-up access over a modem. If you are looking over this net guide then you are assumably thinking at obtaining net access for the 1 st time, or thinking to upgrade to broadband.

The perk of fast internet access is users are able to listen to the radio over the net, this has became awfully popular with Channel 4 launching their new player which will allow you to watch the most current shows of Roseanne. With high speed broadband people could also get rap music & Hollywood movies at a much higher speed than super slow dial-up access.

Broadband is easy to install. The 1st action you will need to do is register with an ISP, sometimes known as an Internet Service Provider, and the broadband business will supply surfers with an internet connection through your home line. If users already have a broadband supplier then please make sure you make use of a broadband comparison website for neutral guidance on the leading wireless broadband deals. People might quickly acquire the cheapest deals with an internet provider comparison website by just putting in your postcode & then the website will return a list of high speed internet packages in your postcode. You will be under no contract to sign up with any high speed internet while people browse the internet deals. Discover which broadband providers are in your area and what deals they offer.

Once users have signed up with your Internet Service Provider the internet corporation will supply a date for connection & supply users with any necessary hardware & cd software. The routers and CD software will come with step by step guides & most Internet Service Providers may offer surfers IT support if needed.

Once users have successfully connected to the internet surfers can start to like the super fast speeds of broadband. If surfers are going to get music, television programmes such as Superman the Series or thriller movies please be aware of any download allocations you yourself may have on your www package. Rock music and TV downloads such as Stargate might take up a lot of your ‘download allocation’ as the broadband corporation are large in file size.

My 42 Plasma Tv

June 28th, 2008 | Category: Electronics, Entertainment, Technology, tv

My 42 plasma tv is practically the best that money can buy. I use my 42 plasma tv to watch everything, including football games, live war coverage on cnn, the 6 o clock news, and anything else that you can think of. One of the best parts of having a 42 plasma tv is the realism of watching it – it’s like you’re actually there in the heat, making tackles and calling plays, or maybe involved in a steamy romance on a soap opera, or launching cruise missles at the enemies of freedom all around the world.

Before my 42 plasma tv, I had a standard 17 tv. It was okay, I mean I could make out what was on the screen, and actually thought I was getting a pretty good picture, but boy I didn’t know what I wal missing out on. The best thing about my 42 plasma tv is the surround sound system. It means that the action is all around me in 360, so that its more than just watching tv. My 16 year old son calls it “more real than real,” and I can’t help but agree. What with the massive, highe resolution 42 plasma tv picture, and the beautiful stereophonic sound, I don’t even really need to leave the house to have fun any more. I can sit around all day watching my 42 plasma tv, and never get bored. Of course, the wife still likes to go out around town, so every friday night, we go out for dinner and a movie, or sometimes to play miniature golf.

When shopping for a 42 plasma tv, it’s important to know what is good and what is not. Basically, there are only a few things to look for. The first is price – a 42 plasma tv can cost thousands of dollars, so it’s important to know that it’s worth it to you and that you have the money for it. Also, there is the matter of resolution. If it is not high enough resolution, there is almost no point, especially if you like to watch dvds or have high definition television. Another thing you should look for is quality, obviously, as with all things. Will your tv last 5 years? 10 years? 20 years? The best bay to answer all of these questions is to look at consumer reviews, or perhaps read consumer reports. My wife swears by consumer reports, and she hasn’t made a bad major purchase in years.

Air Force Ones for On and Off the Court

June 26th, 2008 | Category: Info, Miscellaneous, Uncategorized

Some men take great pride in the way that they look. They want women to notice them and to see all the hard work they put into their appearance. They want to feel appreciated and also want some men to be jealous of what they have. It takes them more time than usual to get ready in the morning since they take a moment to decide what they will wear and how they are going to wear it. A staple item for most men is a great pair of shoes. A nice, clean, crisp pair of sneakers will make them instantly feel more attractive and ready to take on the day. Air Force Ones are a perfect shoe for any man, looking to dress to impress.

These Nike creations aren’t your typical sneaker. When we think of a shoe we either imagine all white with a little black on it, or vice versa. No one ever thinks of different patterns, colors or shapes on a shoe. Shoes are just as important as a sexy pair of jeans, so they should never be overlooked. Luckily, Air Force Ones come in a variety of colors and patterns so you can find a pair to reflect you completely. They have the all white shoe if you are looking to take a lady out on the town. If you want a retro look, they have those too, with the bright purples and blues to make you feel like you have a piece of the 70’s and 80’s with you. For a more modern, everyday look you could sport the Premium Edition Air Force Ones sneaker, with the white and brown to gold colors.

Not only are these shoes great for walking around town to show off your new kicks, they are also great for on the court. No other shoe is going to give you support, grip and style when you’re shooting threes. Most men like their basketball shoes to be all black with a little high top to give them extra support when they are running up and down the court. Nike put out a Barkley Edition of the Air Force Ones to do just that. They have the lace ups and as well as the Velcro strap to make sure that your foot or ankle isn’t going anywhere. The last thing you need is a sprained ankle to keep you from playing ball.

These are the same price as any other shoe out there so you don’t have to worry about dishing out big money just for a pair of shoes. If you haven’t yet pick up a couple pairs of Nike’s most renowned shoe on the market and you won’t be disappointed.

Tents

June 25th, 2008 | Category: Info, Miscellaneous, Travel, Uncategorized

One of the most important decisions for any camper or backpacker is “what tent do I buy?” Though the answer may not matter much in fine weather, when it starts to pour it may mean the difference between a cozy night in your sleeping bag and a miserable, drenched evening. What tent is right for you depends on how you’ll be planning on using the tent. Similarly, your activities also dictate what aspects of the tent are most important to you. If you’re backpacking on a long trip, then weight may be a primary concern, but if you’re car camping then it’s comfort and space, not weight, which will help you find the tent that’s right for you.

If you’re backpacking, then heavy, base camp style tents will do nothing but weigh you down. A more standard, backpacker’s tent will be more suitable. Another choice still remains; do you want a 3 season tent or a 4 season tent? Generally, 4 season tents are built to withstand the worst mother nature has to offer; torrential rain, heavy snow, and howling winds. They have extra poles and tie downs to make the tent as sturdy as possible. 4 season tents are often dome-shaped in order to eliminate any flat spaces where snow could settle. The trade-off to all of this security is that 4 season tents are often heavier and bulkier than their 3 season brethren.

3 season tents are often similar to 4 season tents in general design, but they generally have fewer poles and are slightly less sturdy. However, they weigh less and pack lighter. They generally handle wind and rain quite well, but they’re not designed to handle heavy snowfall. A few inches won’t bother them by any means, but they are unlikely to stand up under heavy snow and are therefore not a good choice for winter camping.

Convertible tents offer a compromise between 3 season tent weight and 4 season tent security; they have poles and/or flaps that can be added in the winter and removed in spring, summer, and fall, allowing you to use the same tent in the summer than stood up to the twenty inch snow in the winter, without carrying the weight of the extra flap and poles. Though 3 season tents can handle some winter weather and 4 season tents work just fine in the summer, convertible tents can be the perfect compromise for the backpacker who wants to hike year-round but can only afford to purchase one tent.

3D Studio Max

June 25th, 2008 | Category: Arts, Design, Info, Technology

3d studio max is the industry standard in modelling and animating computer realistic humanoid and animal models, as well as in creating realistic and dynamic backgrounds. It is costs a pretty penny, so can’t be afforded by everyone, but if you are an animation professional, the cost is well worth it. Really, nothing can compare in quality, versitility, functionality, and high tech.

Animation is an elaborate process. If you are doing it, whether by hand or by computer, there are many steps which you must take before you achieve a finished product. One is that you must do first story boards, which are sketches of the main scenes and situations of your animation. Besides that, you must sketch and develop your characters, understanding both their appearance and their personality, as well as their different facial expressions and postures. This can take many many hours, and is one of the most involved parts of the animation process, and it takes place before the 3d studio max animation even begins.

One of the most crucial points in any animation is the walk cycle. Basically, this is a cycle of frames which show the character taking two steps from a set perspective – a left foot and a right foot. This can be then repeated over and over again, and voila, your character is walking. After that, you can make them walk through any environment. This is where the advantage of 3d studio max comes in over by hand animation: With animating by hand, you’ll have to draw a different walk cycle from any perspective which you want to view the character, which can multiply your work by several times.

With a 3d studio max animation program, however, instead of just drawing a picture of the character doing certain things, you create a model of the character in 3 dimensions. This means that its almost like having a real actor – you can film your animation from any direction without re-drawing it, which, when making a full movie, is an almost indespensible technological innovation.

The draw back to 3d animation programs is that they have this very glassy, shinny, look to them. They don’t have the same sense of individual style as hand drawn animations, and all look kind of the same, no matter what artist designs them. Really, although the 3d studio max animation is great for modelling backgrounds in a movie, it will never replace hand drawn characters fully.
