A well-known location for all the notable celebrities, Acapulco is your one great vacation. Acapulco is considered the queen of all the Mexican beach resorts and a top location not only in Mexico but in the whole world. Acapulco is a city and major sea port in the state of Guerrero on the Pacific coast of Mexico, southwest from Mexico City. It comes from the Nahuatl language that means area of big reeds. It is located on a deep, semi-circular bay. The tourist resort city of Acapulco is the grandest city in the state. This remarkable dystopia is the undisputed birthplace of Mexican tourism and everything that entails and has always been the standard by which all other beach destinations are measured. Though the jet set crowd responsible for creating Acapulco’s dynamic reputation has long since gone, all the qualities that drew them to her shores still remain. In recent years, Acapulco has been reborn and is once again back in spotlight.
Most things in Acapulco happen in one of three areas. These are the Playa Revolcadero/Diamante, Puerto Marques, and the area surrounding Acapulco Bay. These areas are found simultaneously on the drive into town from the airport. The first is the Playa Revolcadero and Diamante area. This area represents the most modern part of Acapulco and is home to several world-class resorts. The area stretches with clean white beach and an wide tropical lagoon. So if you are into those extreme activities or just simply stroll and savor the heat of the sun, then all those can be experienced in this area. Once you happened to be in the shoreline, you will really feel that Acapulco would best describe what Mexico is. The waters are calm and warm, terrific for swimming and snorkeling. The resorts welcome visitors and sipping tequila overlooking the beach at sunset will undoubtedly be one you’ll never forget with this Mexican experience. At first you’ll find it hard because language here still is Spanish and the people here are determined to maintain their tradition and culture despite the influx of tourists. Just a bit further, you will see Acapulco’s scenic bays. Though far smaller than its popular neighbor, the Puerto Marques, its own scenic wonder are still as world-class as any destinations are. The area tries to keep still quiet and tranquil environment and is also growing and developing to keep pace with the demand for luxury properties and housing. The Acapulco bay is the best of all and surely all will be amazed not only at the size, but the seemingly endless view of a thriving metropolis. Nonetheless, it remains one of the most enjoyable places near town to spend a day at the beach.
Generally, Acapulco offers a very good nightlife. The area has bay with lights on the shoreline reflecting on the calm waters. The panorama would really make you go back again to the area. Most clubs are open bar, while the smaller bar establishments are pay on tab. Usually, US Americans happens to be the one that dominates the area especially at night because most bars sign contracts with US based companies that cater the need of fellow Americcans specifically. It would be difficult to rival Acapulco’s nightlife. Baby´O which many consider as the best nightclub in Acapulco while El Classico coming from the original club located in Mexico City is very desired among the elite youth from the capital. American favored clubs, the top three are Palladium, Mandara, and Privado, all located within a mile of each other.
In recent years, within the younger crowd, Acapulco has made up some ground on Cancún as a desired spring break location. This is hardly a sleepy seaside resort; this is the bustling home for nearly two million people. And that is precisely what makes it special. Not only are there beaches and oceans, but also all of the electricity and excitement that comes with big city life. When the sun goes down and the lights come up, the queen is at her very best. If you are in Acapulco, you would really say that this is indeed Mexico.

We have often heard from some travelers who regularly visit tourist destinations in Mexico that they really would like to experience the dystopia the old ways. They really miss old Mexico in other words. We know that all has various motives when it comes to travelling. Some would really don’t care about the area as long as they appreciate and some would really make it to the point to have a meaningful travel. Most Mexican beaches right now are being converted into a modern beach resort. And we would assume that travelers who wants old Mexico only means that they miss the tradition and delight that lives in the laid back Mexican beach towns that have yet to turn the corner to becoming resort cities. Not to say that these familiar named resort destinations aren’t attractive and astonishing vacation spots but I know that some travelers prefer places that are still just a bit off the beaten path. But nevertheless, if old Mexico is what you are looking for then you better plan your next trip to Manzanillo.
Manzanillo is located on the Pacific Coast in the Mexican State of Colima. The city is located on the Pacific Ocean and contains Mexico’s busiest port. Manzanillo is also a beach resort and a self-proclaimed sailfish capital of the world. The area hosts a yearly sailfish fishing tournament. Manzanillo also hosts the most efficient port for tuna landings in Mexico. The city is also well known internationally for deep-sea fishing and the green flash phenomenon during sunsets. But Manzanillo is unlike most of the seaside resort towns. The historically important city is a seaport even before the conquest that was first settled by the Europeans in 1522 and was used as a departure point for Spanish expeditions to Baja and Northern Mexico making the area a favorite of those who want to have a glimpse of the past. Today, it is primarily a bustling commercial port that happens to have two gorgeous bays and miles of untouched shorelines available to cultivate the slow-paced, yet steady growth of tourism. This makes for an interesting paradox in the lay of the land.
Manzanillo’s pristine, unpopulated beaches are undeniably the most attractive on the western coast of Mexico. The town is essentially split between a downtown area adjacent to the port, and a resort zone located along the scenic shores of the Bahias. Of the two bays, Bahia de Manzanillo is the most developed area, while further up the coast is the Bahia de Santiago is for the most part is unpopulated. In between these two picturesque inlets lies the Santiago Peninsula, home to the area’s most significant resort developments. Though understated, Manzanillo offers some of the finest resorts on the Pacific. Santiago Beach is one of the oldest tourist sections of Manzanillo with several inexpensive hotels. Usually the water is clear and mild, and the flavor of the area is typically Mexican. Playa Las Hadas on the other hand is a man-made beach on the south side of the Las Hadas marina. It is normally a very mild beach due to the construction of a jetty around the marina. Playa de oro is little-known beach but with a very famous history. This special area has the unique ability to maintain Old World style while still providing a full range of amenities for travelers.
Overall, Manzanillo is just beginning to evolve into a premier tourist destination. And though it continues to grow, the state of Colima where Manzanillo is located continues to have the lowest crime rate in the entire country. Other activities you can do are water sports and golf. Shopping, dining and nightlife are somewhat low-key when compared to other Mexican Riviera destinations. But for travelers who want old Mexico, this is old Mexico. Manzanillo is the Mexico for travelers who want to experience the delight of a area where you can feel the heritage and take in the authentic attraction.

What is really about Mexico? We already knew about the beaches and resorts we can visit to but we almost forgot the most imperative factor of the area, the people. When a person travels, knowing what area to go to is imperative but knowing the people is much greater. Travel is not just about the satisfying but on how you are affected after your travel. The people you meet along the way makes a difference for they influence much of our travel. Through the locals, we appreciate more the area and appreciate the differences we have from them in terms of physical and cultural attributes. Mexico is the most populous country to those who speaks Spanish all over the world and second only to Brazil in Latin. Mexican culture is wealthy and varied. So before traveling to Mexico, it is necessary to know the people and their culture so tourist would have an understanding on how to deal with them.
Mexican history begins with the arrival of the conquistadors but civilization really starts when hunters from Asia and Africa settled the area since 20,000 B.C. There are three dominant influences that make the Mexican people of today. First, the native cultures which are the Maya, Inca, Aztec, Toltec and many other societies and cultures. Second is the Spanish. They complete transformed Mexico’s culture, architecture, society and language. The Spanish spoken in Mexico today is the most obvious example. Third is the United States. The United States shaped the country and enriched the culture. This was due to some conflicts and other wars both countries engaged with before.
Spanish is the official language though Mixtec, Otomi, Trascan and Zapotec are still spoken to some local areas. But almost all of them can make out and speak Spanish. There are at least 50 different dialects spoken in Mexico, and some of them differ widely from the average American Spanish language. Though there are many influences, you can be assured that tourist will have an easy way to communicate with them since in the tourist areas, English is very common. If you venture into the country a tour guide or translator is just available. Mexican Spanish is different in imperative ways from the Castilian Spanish of the mother country. You will notice many commonly used words either through their similarity to English or because the words themselves, such as rodeo, canyon and corral, have been absorbed into the American speech. Most of the five million Mexican Indians retain their own ancient tongue while still speaking Spanish.
Religion is of great importance in Mexico, with about 90 percent of the people practicing Roman Catholicism with minority populations of Jews, Protestants, Muslims and others. In many villages, many stupendous churches, chapels and tabernacles all across the country are fantastic tourist attractions, and you can even find tours that specialize just in churches. One will most likely find a Catholic church in the plaza or central square, surrounded by a few stores and government buildings and, of course, an open-air marketplace. Although the country has no official religion as compared to there Latin countries, Roman Catholic has somehow influence the government for Christian holidays and Fiesta in memory of a saint are celebrated throughout the country.
Once the Spaniards arrived, the cities became more like towns with plazas and homes with patios. But in modern day, life in the cities became quite similar to that of the U.S., however many Mexican villagers still follow the older way of life. Nearly 75 percent of all Mexicans now live in cities or towns. Today, many households consist of an average of five or six people. Families live in rows of homes built in the Spanish colonial style and those who are in suburbs live in apartment buildings.
And always remember that Mexicans consider themselves Americans. They are very sensitive about this. They Live in America that’s why they have to be called one. They want to be called as Estados Unidos Mexicanos to be compared with Estados Unidos Americanos for the US people.

What’s with the Yucatan Peninsula? Basically, the area has a number of beaches and resorts that just are behind the coastline and other islets. It is also the home of some archeological sites like Coba, Chichen Itzam, Tulum and Uxmal. But when you travel more in the State of Yucatan, a state of Mexico, one of the three states of the peninsula, you’ll observe the true meaning of the vicinity. In Merida, the capital and grandest city of the Mexican state of Yucatan, also has a exceptional cultural life as influenced by the whole region of the peninsula. It is the cultural capital of the Yucatan Peninsula. Merida is known as ‘White City’. Try to look for a map and you’ll know why. The whole city is almost white. There are many explanations, but the most accepted is because of the large use of white limestone and white paint this traditional city depicts much of the splendor of Colonial Mexico. The metropolitan area includes the municipalities of Merida, Uman and Kanasin.
Most tourist attractions of the city are the historical and archeological spot that reflects how wealthy the cultural heritage the Peninsula has. The peninsula is the center of the Mayan civilization. Although some of the peninsula boast the world top beaches, Merida has focused itself to maintain and conserve the remains of Mexico’s past. In the center of the city, you can visit cathedrals and churches. The very notorious Mayan ruins, museums, haciendas and cenotes are also located here. For tourist who wants to see all of these in one day, the most convenient way is to ride a Turibus. From the name itself you know what it can serve you. With the Turibus you can visit much of Merida’s architecture an museums from the Colonial period through the 18th century and 19th century. There is also a sculpture exhibit just outside the entrance in the walkway between the entrance and the cathedral. Pacheco’s work at the Governor’s Palace is best for those who love contemporary art. It has interior arched courtyard, an upstairs gallery and the balcony are the sites for a display of paintings of Pacheco. Another is the Merida City Museum. It is located in the beautiful and majestic Ex-Federal Post Office palace. This building has special architectural characteristics that make is historically valuable.
Merida is also a good base from which to observe the Yucatan Peninsula’s Mayan archaeological sites, such as Chichen Itza and Uxmal. Chichen Itza is one of Mexico’s eminent sites. It was the political, religious and military center of the North of the Yucatan Peninsula. The most well-known building of Chichen Itza is the Castillo which was dedicated to Kukulcan, the Plumed Serpent. Uxmal on the other hand is the most eminent site of the Puuc region. The Pyramid of the Dwarf dominates the site. Many of the buildings are arrayed in ornate stone carvings while Mayapana was considered the last exceptional Mayan stronghold. The archaeological zones contain mural paintings. Mayapan has a Castillo which is a replica of the one in Chichen Itza.
All in all, Merida has a wealthy cultural life.
