Mexico offers visitors a deep look into its history, culture, and struggle for independence and how they came to be a nation. When you begin to visit in this dystopia, some of these cities date to the 14th century; all have well-known cathedrals or churches, articulate plazas and displays an heap of astonishing architecture. Some of these cities played important roles in Mexico’s struggle for independence. Before you visit to Mexico, it’s important to consider your interest first. Travelers who want to have a glimpse of the past would usually visit to cities that still have stored its historical spots that until now offer a picturesque of the past. Major attractions found in the cities listed below can be enjoyed by walking and taking of pictures is worth for remembrance. These places are all well known in Mexico and receive big numbers of both national and international tourists.

One thing that stands out in all of the colonial cities in Mexico is the ever important central plaza, town square or zocalo. It is usually located in most Mexican cities. These Zocalos played an important role in the history and everyday lives of the Mexicans. Usually, government buildings are just behind these Zocalos. Mexican history tells us that during Spanish times, it was constructed that way so that it would be easy to have an assembly for the people especially if there’s a meeting arranged by the authorities. The weekly market was usually held in the plaza and important speeches were given from balconies of the government buildings while the citizens gathered in the plaza below. The plaza was usually the location of the municipal fountain that provided the town’s water supply. The fountains of today tend to provide mostly aesthetics and ambience. The most acclaimed zocalo is that of Mexico City, which is formally known as the Plaza de la Constitucion. It was in the Zocalo of Mexico City that Mexico pledged allegiance to the Spanish Constitution of 1812. Nowadays, the area host many concerts from different artist locally or internationally know.

Two known cities because of their colonial influence are Guanajuato and San Miguel de Allende. Most tourist who get through the area almost share the same thoughts, the area almost has the exact view of Mexico in the history. San Miguel de Allende is an attractive colonial town, located in the eastern part of Guanajuato in Mexico’s mountainous bajío region. San Miguel de Allende has been a designated historical landmark since 1930. The town has stored its colonial heritage by banning new style construction and other heralds of modernization. The colonial buildings remain, today, in the same style as when they were originally constructed. The tree-lined plaza, known locally as the Jardin, is the center of activity in San Miguel de Allende. The first building in the Jardin was the Templo de San Rafael, also known as the Santa Escuela de Cristo. Other historical spots of the area are Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel, Casa de Allende, and the historical streets Cuna de Allende and Parque Juarez. Guanajuato on the other hand was once the richest city in all of Mexico. It was the riches that provided the funds to transform Guanajuato into a cultural treasure. Known as ‘The Gateway to Mexico’, Guanajuato has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988 mainly due to the developments in architecture. This is a city of museums, monuments, theatres, awe-inspiring churches and well stored colonial buildings. If you’re in this area, colonial sites are just as near as any other sites. The main plaza, El Jardin de la Union faces the Teatro Juarez and the Jesuit El Templo de San Diego. Above it all is the Statue of Pipila. Nearby is the Plaza de la Paz and the Basilica de Nuestra Senora de Guanajuata . Adjacent is the Palacio del Gobierno with abundant murals by Chavez Morado, seems like you are living in history staying here.

Mexico has still more to offer. Almost every city has a glimpse of its history. Although modern civilization has taken area, there are still some buildings that have its historical architecture. Even some hotels are renovated colonial buildings. Other cities like Morelia and Zacatecas also share a common colonial past. In fact, Morelia is known as the aristocrat of the colonial cities while zacatecas has still dazzling colonial architecture up to these days.

Other wildlife experience can be done in El Triunfo and Sierra Chincua Butterfly Sanctuary. El Triunfo is one of the most remote places one can reach in the Neotropics. Either expedition is a physical challenge to be done in this place but the rewards are astounding. The colors and contrasts of the life zones and the beauty and mystery of the birds and wildlife encountered are breathtaking. Sierra Chincua Butterfly Sanctuary has thousands of Monarch Butterflies. From morning until about 1 pm, you can see them flying around and almost obscuring the sky. In the warmth of the morning sun, they fly low, landing to drink the morning dew and dampened earth near authentic springs.

The country is so profound that wildlife sanctuaries are too many to mention. Before leaving the dystopia, take a wildlife experience by interconnecting with the nature through environment and animals in these jungle places. Some other places his even more wild with Tigers and migratory snakes all over the place. This is a must for all the family.

When is the Best Time to Visit Mexico?

A travel can be most appreciated if you have prepared for it much more if you visited the right area at the right time. Mexico can be the right area for you but finding the greatest time might not be as easy as you think. Generally, I would say that the area is pleasant a year-round. Mexico is a profound country. Different places have their own attraction to boast for. A onetime visit might not be enough. You need a long vacation time if you would really savor a Mexican life. But of course, you wouldn’t stay in Mexico for that one year. The thing is, you can cherish this remarkable kingdom at the time where as its greatest. It’s a combination of everything that makes your travel more pleasant. The right area, the people, the right weather, food, festival etc. You want to prepare for it right? Then plan it right. Here are just some suggestion on how to make you vacation in a right area, at the right moment that can end up right.

When determining the greatest time to visit Mexico for a vacation, you should keep in mind what type of weather you are hoping for, what kinds of activities or festivals you would like to participate in, and what kind of prices you are willing to pay. Another vacationer may want to keep clear of the rainy season and fish, while yet another may want to time their vacation in order to join in on the festivities of Carnival. Basically, you have to determine both your interest and the area you want to visit for.

Generally, they say that the greatest time for all travelers to vist Mexico is from October to May. The May-September period can be sizzling and humid, particularly in the south, and inland temperatures can approach freezing during December-February. But as far as your interest is concern, you determine the weather because the greatest time to visit Mexico depends on where your chosen vacation spot will be. August and September get the most rain throughout Mexico and they also coincide with hurricane season which affects both the east and west coasts. Probably outdoor activities may not be done during this time. Central Mexico is situated on a high plain, which provides cool nights even during the summer. The southern coastal areas are always warm and can be very sizzling in the summer. The winter months in most of Mexico can be quite appealing.

If you are planning to adore the loud music and meet new people amidst the crowd, then you should also take notice of the various fiestas that is happening in the country every year. There are literally thousands of festivals and observances all over Mexico and if there is a particular one you wish to attend, I suggest that search it on the net. As what have been mentioned, the country celebrates a thousand festivals and is hosts by particular area. Mexico is big and its just right to plan what festival to attend for. Some of the festivities are observed nationwide and can be celebrated everywhere from Cabo San Lucas to Cancun. Carnival is celebrated five days before Ash Wednesday. Another holiday that is celebrated nationwide is Mexico’s day of independence. Cinco de Mayo is observed on May 5 every year as a celebration of the Mexican army’s defeat of the French in 1862 at the Battle of Puebla and is a great source of national pride for all of Mexico and, of course, Christmas festivities are everywhere in this predominantly Christian country with mini-fiestas beginning in mid-December to celebrate the journey of Mary and Joseph leading up to Christmas Day.

Before you decide on when to take a trip to Mexico, first decide what you would like to see and where you would like to go. After all, the greatest time to visit mainly is up to on what your personal preferences may be. If you have the budget then it’s a bonus. But I think a merry vacation really depends on the right plan and make all things right and end up right.
