July 16th, 2008 by rmcclsky

Leroy Ruiz just spied his first blackhead before going to his Spanish class. You can just imagine his feelings as he figured that everyone was examining him. Fortunately for Leroy there is hope for his acne.

Acne can be a problem for just about anyone, causing breakouts without regard to age or gender. Most that {suffer|suffers| from acne, though, are between 12 and 24. Nearly eighty five percent of people who fall within this group have acne and of those about 23% will get permanent scarring that will range from minimal to noticable at a glance.

Those 25 and over, though, are not guaranteed freedom from acne’s vise like grip. The American Dermatologist Association reports that about 20% of all those over the age of 24 have active acne. This boils down to about 60 million American teens and adults have active acne skin lesions and 20 million of those have acne that is severe enough to cause scarring. Surprisingly, only an estimated 10% of those with acne will seek medical advice, but this is partly caused by the way people look down on those with acne.

There is hope, though, for those affected with acne. Once you have learned what causes acne, the things that work and the things that don’t help and how to prevent facial acne, you can make sure to get skin that is clear and glowing.

What Causes Acne?

While acne skin lesions and the resultant scarring is not contagious, there are several things that do increase your chances of getting acne skin lesions. In general terms, acne is caused when the sebaceous glands produce excess oil. Other causes may include:

* An inherited tendency towards acne or genetics  * Over washing the skin  * Some illnesses  * Humidity  * Pollutants in the environment  * Hormones and hormone imbalances  * Cosmetics that are oil based  * Some prescribed medications  * Poor cleansing of the skin  * Physical irritation

Dont Waste your Time and Money

While some acne remedies will improve your acne, many will not. When picking out an over the counter remedy, be on your guard. Many of the acne products on the shelves today have harsh ingredients that can really dry out your skin, and can even make your acne worse. Pick out your acne remedy products with care and look for products that are soothing.

What Really Works

Four things are guaranteed to help acne. Together they pack a powerful punch to make acne a former problem.

* Healthy diet  * Adequate sleep  * Water  * Proper cleansing

To treat acne you currently are suffering from, try using natural products such as tea tree oil which has strong antiseptic properties and is really effective. Witch hazel is an effective skin toner and it can give you a healthy glow. Mint is a good spot treatment, especially for cystic acne. It will cool and sooth the skin while killing bacteria in the process.

A good cleansing and firming mask that you can make right in your kitchen is a corn starch and egg white mask. Make a paste with the egg white and corn starch. Apply it to clean skin and allow it to dry. Remove with a wet washcloth and rinse well. You will find yourself with greatly improved skin.

An Ounce of Prevention

Prevention will help you avoid acne in the first place. The best way to avoid acne is to take care of your health. A sensible, diet low in fat that includes a good variety of whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables will help keep your skin clear. Dark green leafy vegetables, like beet greens, are great acne fighters. You should also drink plenty of water to keep your body hydrated. Adequate sleep is another proven beauty tool. Doctors want you to get about seven hours of sleep a night.

Last but not least, proper washing of your skin is vital for keeping it clear. Make sure you clean your skin at least once a day. If you wear cosmetics, take it off each night before bed. When washing your skin, use a cleanser that is gentle and be sure that the water is not too hot. Dont over cleanse or scrub because that can increase your acne. Rinse your skin well and blot dry with a clean towel. When you take the time to prevent acne, you wont have to spend the time and money fighting it.

But, President Bush Says:

July 16th, 2008 by rmcclsky

My son Hugh and I were watching Walker Texas Ranger the other night. You know, the Forgotten People episode where Trivette visits an old friend in a nursing home who tries to find the tape recorder he had that would tell Trivette about the strange things the doctors were trying to do but could not find it. The head doctor murders him to prevent him from exposing them and based on Trivettes suspicions, a few clues are uncovered, that suggests that the doctors are conducting illegal experiments on their elderly patients, so C.D. is sent in undercover to gather evidence to prove it. And, I started thinking about President George W Bush living in Crawford, Texas.

Whether you admire President Bush or not, you have to laugh at some of his mistatementations. Like these:

- I want to thank you for taking time out of your day to come and witness my hanging. at the dedication of his gubernatorial portrait in Austin, Texas (January 4, 2002) - See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda. May 24, 2005 - I can only speak to myself. Washington, D.C. (April 28, 2005)

- Wow! Brazil is big! upon seeing a map of Brazil at a meeting with Brazilian President, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (November 6, 2005)

- The primary component of gasoline is crude oil. Speech about gas prices, April 22, 2006

President George W. Bush has let the nation through some of the most important times in memory. So, naturally, some of the statements that he got right are also memorable. These are some good examples:

- In the last two years, we’ve seen the desire for liberty in the broader Middle East — and we have been sobered by the enemy’s fierce reaction. In 2005, the world watched as the citizens of Lebanon raised the banner of the Cedar Revolution, they drove out the Syrian occupiers and chose new leaders in free elections. In 2005, the people of Afghanistan defied the terrorists and elected a democratic legislature. And in 2005, the Iraqi people held three national elections, choosing a transitional government, adopting the most progressive, democratic constitution in the Arab world, and then electing a government under that constitution. Despite endless threats from the killers in their midst, nearly 12 million Iraqi citizens came out to vote in a show of hope and solidarity that we should never forget.

- We need mentors to love children, especially children whose parents are in prison. And we need more talented teachers in troubled schools. USA Freedom Corps will expand and improve the good efforts of AmeriCorps and Senior Corps to recruit more than 200,000 new volunteers.

- Trade brings better jobs and better choices and better prices. Yet for some Americans, trade can mean losing a job, and the federal government has a responsibility to help. (Applause.) I ask Congress to reauthorize and reform trade adjustment assistance, so we can help these displaced workers learn new skills and find new jobs.

- This time of adversity offers a unique moment of opportunity — a moment we must seize to change our culture. Through the gathering momentum of millions of acts of service and decency and kindness, I know we can overcome evil with greater good.

So, whether you love him, hate him or just don’t care, what he has said is worth the read.

And John McCain Says:

July 15th, 2008 by rmcclsky

Senator John Sidney McCain III, as you know, is the Republican candidate for president. However, you may not have heard some of his message. So, I’ve gathered a number of his quotes for you. By the way, have you noticed that this is a race of Barak II vs. John III?

The Senator says:

The decision facing Americans in this election couldn’t be more important to the future security and prosperity of American families. This is, indeed, a change election. No matter who wins this election, the direction of this country is going to change dramatically. But, the choice is between the right change and the wrong change; between going forward and going backward. John Sidney McCain III

I commend both Senators Obama and Clinton for the long, hard race they have run. Senator Obama has impressed many Americans with his eloquence and his spirited campaign. Senator Clinton has earned great respect for her tenacity and courage. The media often overlooked how compassionately she spoke to the concerns and dreams of millions of Americans, and she deserves a lot more appreciation than she sometimes received. As the father of three daughters, I owe her a debt for inspiring millions of women to believe there is no opportunity in this great country beyond their reach. I am proud to call her my friend. Pundits and party elders have declared that Senator Obama will be my opponent. He will be a formidable o ne. But I’m ready for the challenge, and determined to run this race in a way that does credit to our campaign and to the proud, decent and patriotic people I ask to lead. John Sidney McCain III

In Vietnam, where I formed the closest friendships of my life, some of those friends never came home to the country they loved so well. I detest war. It might not be the worst thing to befall human beings, but it is wretched beyond all description. John Sidney McCain III

There are cultural differences in other parts of the world, to be sure, and we must adjust our tactics based on our understanding of those differences. But there are some basic underlying truths: unlimited government confers unlimited power on its leaders to impose their will on others. That’s one truth. Here’s another: people generally don’t want to live their lives in the crosshairs of government oppression. They want to be free to make for themselves and their children, by their own decisions, talents and industry, a better future than they inherited. John Sidney McCain III

Eric Shelton just saw his first facial pimple before going to his Physical Education class. Imagine his feelings as he imagined that everyone was oggling him. Fortunately for Eric there are great things he can do for his acne.

Barack Obama Says:

July 12th, 2008 by rmcclsky

Barack Obama, Jr. is someone, win or lose, has already made his mark on history. Well known as an eloquent speaker, Barack has been eloquent in proclaiming his beliefs. Take a look at what he has told us:

I know what it means to have an absent father, although my circumstances weren’t as tough as they are for many young people today. Even though my father left us when I was two years old, and I only knew him from the letters he wrote and the stories that my family told, I was luckier than most.

Barak Hussein Obama II -

At a time when we’re fighting two wars, when millions of Americans can’t afford their medical bills or their tuition bills, when we’re paying more than $4 a gallon for gas, the man who rails against government spending wants to spend $1.2 billion on a tax break for Exxon Mobil. That isn’t just irresponsible. It’s outrageous.

Barak Hussein Obama II -

I want to say that I know some provocative emails have been circulating throughout Jewish communities across the country. A few of you may have gotten them. They’re filled with tall tales and dire warnings about a certain candidate for President. And all I want to say is let me know if you see this guy named Barack Obama, because he sounds pretty frightening.

Barak Hussein Obama II

All of you chose to support a candidate you believe in deeply. But at the end of the day, we aren’t the reason you came out and waited in lines that stretched block after block to make your voice heard. You didn’t do that because of me or Senator Clinton or anyone else. You did it because you know in your hearts that at this moment a moment that will define a generation we cannot afford to keep doing what we’ve been doing. We owe our children a better future. We owe our country a better future. And for all those who dream of that future tonight, I say let us begin the work together. Let us unite in common effort to chart a new course for America.

Barak Hussein Obama II -

John McCain’s been going around the country talking about how much I want to meet with Raul Castro, as if I’m looking for a social gathering. That’s never what I’ve said, and John McCain knows it. After eight years of the disastrous policies of George Bush, it is time to pursue direct diplomacy, with friend and foe alike, without preconditions. There will be careful preparation. We will set a clear agenda. And as President, I would be willing to lead that diplomacy at a time and place of my choosing, but only when we have an opportunity to advance the interests of the United States, and to advance the cause of freedom for the Cuban people.

Barak Hussein Obama II -

Some may see the millions upon millions of votes cast for each of us as evidence that our party is divided, but I see it as proof that we have never been more energized and united in our desire to take this country in a new direction. More than anything, we need this unity and this energy in the months to come, because while our primary has been long and hard-fought, the hardest and most important part of our journey still lies ahead.

Barak Hussein Obama II

The lobbyists who ruled George Bush’s Washington are now running John McCain’s campaign, and they actually had the nerve to say that the American people won’t care about this. Talk about out of touch!

Barak Hussein Obama II -

I don’t pretend to be a perfect man, and I will not be a perfect President. But I am in this race because I believe that if we want to break from the failures of the past and finally make progress as a country, we can’t keep telling different people what we think they want to hear - we have to tell every American what they need to know. We have to be honest about the challenges we face.
