Welcome to my Voice-over IP blog ! VoIP technology has been creating a huge buzz ever since companies like Vonage and Skype sprung up a few years ago.

Why should you switch to VoIP technology ? Well, the main reason is that Voice-over internet protocol technology will save you mounds of money (think up to 90%) on your phone bill each and every month !

In order to use VoIP all you require is….a phone line (obviously) and a broadband internet connection. You can also use a dial-up (depending on the VoIP provider ) connection but broadband is preferred due to its superior connection speed.

VoIP providers usually offer great monthly rates, giving you unlimited calling within the US (and Canada, in some cases), and even to foreign countries such as France, Australia, and Brazil. For instance, you can place a cheap call to India for as little as 2.9c a minute !
